For many people, Australia is a hot land full of beautiful beaches, but there is also a diverse range of snowcapped mountains, rainforests, national parks, and World Heritage areas.
1 – Sydney Opera House
It’s easily one of the most iconic Australian structures, known around the world for its iconic sail or shell shape. Construction was finished in 1973 and ended up costing over ten times the original budget.
2 – Great Barrier Reef
Visible from space, the Great Barrier Reef is listed on the World Heritage and is one of the most significant living structures in the world. The Great Barrier Reef is over 2,300 km long and home to millions of marine species.
3 – Uluru (Ayers Rock)
This striking red monolith towers up out the flat expanse of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and can be seen from miles in all directions. It’s one of the most iconic natural structures in Australia.
4 – Sydney Harbour Bridge
Another iconic Sydney landmark, the Sydney Harbour Bridge was completed in 1932 and connects the famous North Shore suburb with the heart of the Sydney business district.
5 – Blue Mountains National Park
Only 80 km from Sydney, the Blue Mountains are part of the World Heritage list. It contains a towering sandstone wall known as the Three Sisters as well as waterfalls, aboriginal art, and deep gorges.

This World Heritage Site is located in Australia’s Top End, Northern Territory. It covers more than 20,000 square km and is the second-largest national park in the world.
